Just a quickie - what is the LAW on harassing phone calls. Welcome Finance are now phoning my husband at work (he is unable to take calls), sometimes 3 times a day. They have been phoning at home but I've had their number blocked as all correspondence should be in writing only.

I have written to them (on several occasions) to tell them to stop, but clearly they've just ignored me!

Completely against all of the guidelines laid down by the OFT, and as you have written to them to stop and they are continuing then this could be construed as harassment by a judge, it has certainly happened before.

Keep a diary of events, and in the first instance report these fools to the OFT&TS via http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/UsefulContactsByCategory/Governmentcitizensandrightscontacts/DG_195948

Then to Ofcom http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/telecoms/

http://macutmore.posterous.com/report-nuisance-telephone-calls-immediatelyth Might not be of any use but then again?

Have you sent them this http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/content.php?493-Harassment-by-telephone-response-letter

At the very least when you deal with these clowns and send letters you need to get "Proof of Posting" minimum, this is free at the PO counter, and will be your evidence to a court that they DID know they were committing the criminal offence of harassment..

P.S. What is the debt, how old is it, has he checked his credit file?

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!
