Had a telephone call from CapQuest yesterday. I didn't answer it but they left a message saying they had tried to contact me and for me to get in touch with them. I have recently moved house and they don't have my new address. Any advice on what I should or should not do now? x

The phone calls and voicemail messages just kept coming from CapQuest

I finally changed my phone number.

A little annoyed because I've had the same number for over 15 years

but the stress of 10+ phone calls from CapQuest a day was just too much for me.

I recently found out that my brain haemorrhage is bleeding again which means more surgery,

so I think I have enough on my plate to be worrying about without CapQuest adding to it! x

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Another update

- I changed my mobile number and haven't had ANY phone calls from CapQuest.

However, they have started ringing my landline number even though we are registered at the TPS

and no one (aside from my immediate family) have the landline number.

I have no idea how they have gotten this number

and now I feel that it's just gonna start all over again :( x

Are you ex-directory? You can send them a letter saying not to call them on your landline. The template is in the CAG library. If they break it, get complaining, especially to OFCOM if they repeatedly call you. They Could be liable for a pretty heft fine.

You can also speak to your provider and tell them you are getting nuisance calls - they should be able to block that number for you. . It is my understanding that BT make all numbers known on a list - even if they are ex directory.

Change your landline number as an absolute last resort. If you send the letter once or twice, start issuing complaints, and they still dont follow your instructions, then you can get it changed and tell OFCOM/OFT/FOS that they were harassing you so much, despite your legal instruction that they were not to call you, that you had no choice but to change the number.

They take that kind of thing very seriously.

You dont have to give your address. Just send them a letter with your name, reference number and number they are calling, and advise them as per the template.
