Hi all, today I received a PCN through the post for contravention 31 - Entering and Stopping in a box junction when prohibited. Slightly annoyed I had a look online and saw various examples of PCNs being unlawfully issued and was wondering if mine may be one of these cases. IT does seem very hefty, a £65 fine for somethign that caused no harm or inconvenience to anybody,

I have telephoned TFL and been provided with one extra image of my vehicle in the yellow box, the duration - a whole 6 seconds. Just wondering if I have any grounds to appeal for any reason.

Here is a Google street view of the junction - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=New+cross+road&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=QkW2T42BAYu38gPb7sS3Cg&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=3&ved=0CFQQ_AUoAg

I've seen something regarding the painting of the yellow box lines being required to go to at least 2 of the corners and they don;t appear to in the street view above but it appears that the lines have been repainted since the street view and do in fact go to the corners of the box.

And a link to the PCN images here - http://s1158.photobucket.com/albums/p618/korwin23/?action=view&current=tfl2001.jpg#!oZZ2QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs1158.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fp618%2Fkorwin23%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3Dtfl001.jpg

I'm not trying to pull a fast one and get out of paying if I'm in the wrong but was just wondering peoples thoughts, especially as it seems so many of these pCNs are issued incorrectly.

You really need to see the cctv you cannot even tell if you stopped looking at a photo. Adjudicators usually say that 5 seconds is 'stopped' so you need to be stationary longer than that and is must be due to the traffic in front being stopped also.

Hi green and mean, thanks for the advice. I've seen an extra image on the TFL site and it shows me in the same position time checked 6 seconds after the first image. Do I speak to TFL again about getting the CCTV video?
