Hi,

There's this Asian grocery shop down the road that often sells food without a 'Use By' date. Once I bought some bean curd without a date and it turned out to be sour. Is there anywhere I could lodge a complaint?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to CAG

I would suggest you contact your local Trading Standards and report the trader. They may then do a surprise visit.

As to your problem, you could take it back and see what they have to say.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

Hi, contact your Local Authority and ask to speak to an Environmental Health Officer Commercial Section. Explain what has happened and they will go and inspect. Once there they will go through everything in the Shop. Also speak to Trading Standards about the labels, they can also do spot inspections.

Report to environmental health. They don't mess around with sell by dates etc.

They will do a spot check within a very short time of receiving complaint.
