hi adrian my names kayci can u please help me? i have recieved my bank statements 4 the last 6 years, but dont know what 2 do next. ive been told i have 2 calculate the interest, but dont know how 2 do this. would b realy grateful if u could give me some advice.

hello there mate

you do not have to calculate the interest yet until/or if you have to make a court claim.

all you have to do is use the interest calculation spreadsheet found in the templates library and go through your statements with a fine tooth comb inserting all the charges you have incurred from whatever date you are claiming from but DO NOT PUT IN THE INTEREST as that is only neccesary when filing a court claim the spreadsheet pretty much explains itself anyway.

then proceed with your letter of asking for it back this is also found in the templates library just make some minor adjustments on it by deleting the bit that mentions interest just put in the main amount your total figure alone before interest. copy these for your personal account keep them safe and send the other copy to your bank thats what i did and it seems to have worked so far as im just in the process of waitng for an update/answer by october 2nd

hope this as been of help to you any more advice please feel free to ask.

also if anyone else reads this can you correct me on any errors i dont thin there is but just to make sure as i have used my own experience on what i did to guide someone else but my case seems to be going great so far

kind regards

hi kayci

also just to help you along a bit if you open up the simple works interest calculator spreadsheet just put all your relevent info in the top part

account number

sort code etc etc

the insert the date from and too

then what i did was to delete the days since offence column and the 8% interest column

1 all you need is the in respect of column to describe the nature of the charge (paid refferal, unpaids out)

2 the amount the charge was £**

3 the date incurred

when you have put all of these in just do the coordinates trick on the amount charged column to add it up alot quicker highlight the amount charges row black, then type in any of the blank boxes =SUM(C9:C116) TO GET YOUR TOTAL AMOUNT.i know i may have dumbed this down a little no disrespect i just want to make sure you get it right and get back what your owed anyway any more help feel free to ask

good luck:lol:

Hi Wigglywoo,

Yes stick to your timetable. If no reply by Friday than MCOL it is:D .

Delaying until the last minute is Barclays' forte. Don't worry you'll be fine;)

I received the same letter as you ,after sending all the required letters and spreadsheets,Barclays said that i would hear something from them in 8 weeks. Looking round the other threads it appears that the best policy is to stick with your timetable so i gave Barclays the 14 days to respond and commenced my moneyclaim online ( yesterday).

Hope that helps.

Regards Sandbag.

:!: Just got confused, you've got 3 threads in Barclays all for the same thing  . Best stick with one thread for now.

Spend time reading FAQs section, MCOL is ok, personally I went to my local court to hand in my schedule of charges with a printed off copy of the N1. MCOL does limit the amount of words you can write in but you can download a pdf version & fill it in to take to court yourself if you want.

Regarding mcol - i was absolutely dreading it not being a computer type person but i did the following -

Went into the Bank Templates library copied and pasted jonni2bads particulars of claim ( adapting it to fit my circumstances) thanks to him for that! Then i used the excel spreadsheet to calculate interest then paid the court fees and submitted. It took me a while as i am a computer novice but it wasn't that hard.

Good luck

Sandbag.
