I have read other forum martin @ dailymirror and according to others quick quid is writing off accounts so it does seem to be closing uk accounts down for some reason and when i too tried to log in to the account i had it wont let me ..you see when i paid them off i asked them to close the account down but they said no as they keep it open for five yrs even if u dont re loan again but im happy to announce its closed so its looking very likely they are closing accounts down in the uk after all and someone applied for a 250 loan the other day recieved it in his bank account and wanted to pay it back earlier but when he asked to pay it off quick quid told him his account is closed and he owes nothing

Makes me wonder if i should not pay them the first monthly installment due.

What date/month is their licence actually up?

Let them try. You won't have to pay it as youv ehad no notification that it is happening. All thats been said is the account is closed which means the person owes nothing. There are already 1 or 2 DCA's trying to chase up debts which were wiped therefore are non existant.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Ah if only they'd close my account. Just setting up a repayment plan with them now, nothing to pay till end of April.

  • 1 month later...

hi

I applied for a loan yesterday, was accepted and funds arrived in my account yesterday. I tried to log on today out of interest as i was doing my usual monthly budgeting and it wouldnt accept any of my log in details. I used the online chat who advised me my acc was closed - i said i owe you money how can my acc be closed?? they said my balance was zero. I then rang a rep from QQ and they also advised the same info - scarily like an automated msg. they gave me an email address to email to see why they have closed it. I then went back on chat to get proof of the conversation and categorically asked them if they were going to apply for any funds, send me to a debt collection or legal proceedings and they stated no. I also stated i found this suspect and would be writing in with all the info I have.

my question is this, has any action been taken with anyone else? i have seen prev posts from a few months ago?

thanks

M

What you need to do is contact them and get what they said in writing. Either in a formal email or letter. VOice calls by phone arent worth anything.

If you are worried, ask for a letter or email sent to you stating that the entire loan is now discontinued and there is nothing to pay back. Just say you would like the letter for your own records. Tell them they have 1 week to fulfill the request.

well i have emailed the address they asked me to. if i dont hear anything before monday i'll be ringing them again asking them to send confirmation.

if i get nowhere with that then ill be ringing the OFT or Financial Ombudsman.

I work in finance (yes i should know better than to have dealings with PDL but sometimes things happen) so im just worried about getting a default notice or DCA on my back - i could lose my job for that!!!

Damn, my account still works with them, just logged in no problem!

Argh! i dont want it to be canc off in case theyve made a big mistake or are going to send it on to a DCA - even tho i havent ever been in arrears with them and this was a new loan??!! i just dont get it.

Perhaps a disgruntled employee took revenge on their boss and erased a few accounts before they left? As far as I remember they were still advertising on UK tv pretty recently!

My login details no longer work with QQ either, haven't since I couldn't repay my loan. They continue to send me over due emails but refuse to set up a new repayment plan. I tempted to pay them a token payment each month and see what they do with my account in July.
