I have recently been unfortunate to have had some time off work due to illness, as such on my return i have been interviewed and asked to sign the relevent paperwork.


This is normal course for all employees following absence from work, however, not all employees are receiving these interviews / forms, it appears that i am the only one due to my absence through sickness.


Is there any grounds for action, as i seem very discriminated and upset because of this ?

All employees should be treated the same in theory. If you are certain that this practise is not happening company wide then yes this would be wrong. As for discrimination this would only be as the result of sexual harassment, disability or sexual orientation (I think). I would ask for a copy of the company sickness policy and grievance procedure.


If your company are treating you differently and you can have evidence of this then raise a grievance. It has been known that some managers are just more on the ball than others, but that said if you feel discriminated raise a grievance.


From experience a grievance only ends up with causing you stress and the company generally start closing ranks.
