hi all

yes its another tax credit overpayment question im afraid

just had a letter from tax credits and it looks like we have made an error on our income declaration so they are saying we have been overpaid the last two years

have been reading the forum but my two main questions are if i check my records and there are more years where it is incorrect is it best to declare these now?

also if the overpayment is a significant amount will they still just take it back from our ongoing award or will we have to make other payments?

finally is there anywhere i can check the basic levels of tax credit in relation to earnings?

thanks for any info or help

Officially, yes, but it doesn't look like people on here have had to repay previous years over payments. So that has to be your call really.

They usually take over payments back out of ongoing entitlement.

And there is the site below, although I get at least 10 pounds a week less working tax credits than what it says I should on there, & in fact on other benefit calculator sites too, so I don't know how accurate they really are...

Ok I have just been on there to see for my own claim, if they have updated it for the april changes, & it's saying I should get 499 pounds a week child tax credits, so I think there must be a glitch on there at the moment :-(

They are trying to reclaim previous years payments from me, so it does happen, I'm sorry to say.
