question

when you have a major fault on a car that is only over a week old that was not on the car when you bought it when useing this law against a garage how successful are people making a claim for a repair or refund ,what happens if you write a letter like i did and they don't respond in a letter ,and what happens when you was asked to get qoutes for the repair and due to the price they will no longer respond or answer your calls do the garage trader really care about this law .

my car as a duel mass clutch failing and due to the cost i may be left with the bill to get it put right .

The OP has his own thread on the issue on which I have advised; http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?339216-BOUGHT-CAR-only-just-over-a-week-and-the-clutch-is-faulty-£1000-to-fix-help-please&p=3730745#post3730745

He says the seller is on holiday and will 'have' to wait until he returns tomorrow. My advice was to write to him asking to rectify the problem giving 7 days to respond. Not sure what the OP is now complaining about TBH as he hasn't followed through with the process yet.
