As far as I am aware, Power2Contact are not a bailiff company and unless they actually issue a claim against you then they will not be able to apply for a warrant of entry.

hi sorry it is a water bill,

what has happened is my partner and i split up and i have just recieved a number of letters for outstanding debts which he must of hid from me,

so i have sorted the majority of them out,

payment plans coming out of my ears but they ARE being paid,

then this arrives on my doorstep

,i have gone through everything and as i can tell they (united utilities)have asked for payment before ,

offered payment plans and so on he has ignored them and now we have come to this,

this water account was in my name so i am obviously resposible for this,

but didnt know,i thought it was all in hand being paid for,

i am not disputing any of this mess but if i had known i would of sorted it out a long time ago,

it wouldnt of got to this!!

where do i go with this,

i do not fancy answering the door to these people and am quite worried about the application for a warrant threats,

please help!!xx

ok thats good news then

they CANT get a warrant its a spoof

water is NOT a priority bill unlike other util bills.

under humans rights act THEY CANNOT cut you off!!

the water co might make noises that it in THEIR T&C that they must be paid upfront or at the start of the 'year' shall we say

in all truth as long as you settle by the 1yrs end of their 'yearly' bill you'll be ok.

so have you any bills to give you that date?

then you need to phone the water company [are you SURE this is through united utils?]

and make an arrangement.

think thats how it all works

but UU are a strange bunch if it IS them that supply you water.
