Does anybody have any knowledge of these scumbags, who took an unauthorised £70 from my account even though ive never heard of them, (where did they get my details from) even though ive now closed my account. Or indeed another bunch of thieves called "Wentworth Finance" who tried without success to do the same thing, this is really unsettling for all of us. Would appreciate some feedback on either of these two so called companies, thank you ???

QOUTE FROM THEIR WEBSITE - If we charge a fee for providing our service, if we are unable to find you a loan offer or financial solution or we are unable to introduce you to any services within 6 months you will be entitled to a refund minus £5 as set in the Consumer Credit Act 1974. If you wish to claim a refund in such circumstances, please contact our customer support department who will arrange for our cancellation paperwork to be sent to you. We recommend that you use recorded delivery when writing to us to request a refund so you can be sure we received your request. If you complete a loan with one of our lenders or we provide you with a financial solution we are entitled to retain the full fee for those services. If you complete a loan with one of our lenders or we provide you with a financial solution, in addition to the fee we may also recieve a commission and you agree we retain this.

They will not be able to get from your account unless you or anyone gave them your bank details(and that includes the 3 digits at the back of your card). Send them a letter first and if they do not respond within 10 days, call the Financial Services Ombudsman and report your case. They will write to EFS and EFS will send you some paperwork you have to fill out(some sort of refund/cancellation form). Fill this up, send it back to them, make sure it's recorded delivery. If within 8 weeks of reporting them to FSO they have not returned your money or you have not heard from them, file a complaint form with FSO(FSO will be sending this complaint form to you via post). May take some time, but you will definitely get your money back(less the £5.00).

Have done this to 2 other brokers who tricked me, and FSO helped me get my money back. They are a big help, really.

Or go to your bank and demand a chargeback. If using visa youre pretty much guaranted one.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely write & then take it up with a financial ombudsman.

I would have never wittingly have paid upfront for fees just to find a loan, so they obviously tricked me too. I feel like an idiot, I filled in my card numbers online as requested when i filled out loan applications. But i never agreed to pay £70 upfront, I only agreed sites use my details for credit checks & Confirming my bank account details were valid. I stayed a mile away when i saw sites that stated they wanted a fee upfront, so i know it has to of been fraudulently achieved. I mean I've had to fill out my Card numbers like that before with wonga.com and they gave me a small loan without any upfront fees, there was no problems giving my card numbers out that time as they did what they said and verified i gave correct bank details. Why would i pay for someone to just find me loans when i was doing it myself for free. I mean that is just basic so I know there is def no way i would have agreed to go along with something like that.

So if i gave my card numbers out does that mean there is nothing i can do?? Surely there has to be someway to get my £69.99 back if they fraudulently tricked me out of the money?

Thanks

John Kenny

Just call the FSO and explain your case. But don't be hopeful that you'll be able to get your money completely; it will most likely be deducted £5.00(better than not getting anything back, right?).

Companies like these keep preying on hapless people(like you, me and the rest). We all just have to be wary next time.

Just write them a letter first asking for a refund(make it recorded delivery), give them a deadline, and if they don't respond, call FSO.

Good luck.

Because they dont give you the loan. They charge their fee for introducing you to a lender.

My son tried to get a loan from Wonga, they would not do it, he then goes to My Loan and they tell him to go to Wonga, who then allow him to borrow money.

Am I the only one, but this stinks to me, no background checks done on my son, now I live in fear of bailiffs

File a complaint with the FSO they will help you get your money back(if you did apply with them, you will eventually get your money back less £5.00). If you never applied with them, then you have a concrete case and can get all the money back.

I stupidly applied with this company and never got a loan through them, but FSO helped me get my money back(albeit, less the £5.00) Companies such as these are never able to get money from your account, unless you give them your account number, account name, and more importantly, the CV number(that 3 digits at the back of the card). Although I wouldn't be surprised if some companies are able to get money now without any authorisation or without one giving out his card details-blame it on some of the destructive wonders of the internet.:!:

Did My Loans inform you of the £69.99 broker's fee? It would have been different if they were not able to help your son get a loan, but they did direct you to Wonga(OMG, the broker's fee is higher than the actual loan itself!). My Loan is a broker, not a lender so the loan issued to your son would have been dependent on the the payday loan itself. The brokers don't care how much money has been issued to you. They don't even care whether you got a loan or not. What's important to them is just to get their broker's fee from your account.

Tell your son next time not to avail of the services or liaise with any company(brokers especially) promising to lend you money, or any payday company for that matter.

My son signed up to My Loan, he then was directed to Wonga who lent him £64, then My Loans to out £69.99 from his account so he was worse off, talk about rip off

Anyone know what to do?

Can you provide a copy of their terms and conditions? Specifically where they say how much will be charged and why it will be charged.

Never mind i found it. You MUST report it.

9. Card Payment Terms

● These are the terms set out by My Loan with regard to future payments set up by Credit or Debit Card.

● If your payment for £69.99 declines on the day of your application, we will attempt to take £1 on the same day to validate the card details. This process will be repeated until you notify us in writing that you wish to cancel your application or a period of 62 days has passed. If the £1 card validation payment is successful at any stage during the process we will attempt to take £68.99 from the card once a day until you notify Us in writing that you wish to cancel or a period of 62 days has passed.

● You can cancel a Credit or Debit card payment at any time by simply contacting My Loan by email to [email protected] or by writing to My Loan, 5300 Lakeside, Cheadle Royal Business Park, Manchester, SK83GP

● Remember, we won't know when you have had a loan paid out, so you will need to let us know if there is a problem.

The last part shows that they have no real connection with the loan companies.

So I am in the same boat, just started a topic about it, I never received any loan, I don't even know what site it was but my bank tells me it's Enhance that took the money although the money is still being cleared. I will try bank Monday to see if they are helpful and I have just emailed the FSO.

I never received any loan although I would guess they matched me with a lender, tbh I did it in the library and the computers are so slow and block so many sites that even though I must have entered my card details the redirection to a 'lender' would have been blocked, so I received no service from any broker.

Hopefully I will get a refund.

:mad2: hi im new to this site. today my partner had 70 pound taken from his account unauthorised! by the same company as above, enhance financial. we needed that money to pay for our rent and are now at risk of loosing ours and our 4 year old daughters home. it sickens me that so many people have had the same problem and nothing is being done about this company. we have never ever heard of this company until now and have definetly not been on their website! and like someone said above we just wouldn't pay 70 pound out to get a loan. its pointless! something needs to be done about this company. we have contacted our bank and they have said we have to wait 10 days and then call them back to see if we can claim our money back. its ridiculous. surely the website can be closed down for such fraudulent activity? anyone have a view on this. thanks x
