I owe swift sterling £440 which is due to be collected on 23rd december 2011, this is my second loan with them as the first one was paid off in full. because of internet fraud on my card by some idiots callad "enhance financial services" for £70 i have cancelled my account & card & set up a completely new one, of which no one will know the details, ive learnt my lesson. On reflection it now transpires that i cannot possibly afford the payment of £440 due to Christmas & family financial outlay & priority debts. I am going to propose to Swift sterling that i pay them the £440 back at a rate of £100 per month plus i believe a months interest as well, will they accept this because i am not willing to pay any more, i think this is a reasonable offer. Also should i inform them that their payment on the 23rd december will not be paid & contact them with my proposal after the the card payment has been refused or let them know beforehand, I know its my stupid fault that i took the loan out & i now regret it but i was in a mess to be honest but its not as though i am point blank refusing to pay is it ? if they dont give me their bank details could they refuse me if i offered to pay with a prepaid visa card each month where i can make sure that only the correct ammount is loaded onto it ? PLEASE HELP ME & REPLY TO THIS POST BECAUSE I AM MORE THAN A LITTLE WORRIED & STRESSED OUT OVER THIS, Thank you for reading this post.

I think your best appoach in the first instance is to not arbitrarily stop paying but to have open dialogue with them and say what you are able to do.

Make sure you do so in writing and keep detailed records. Do not ring them unless you are recording the call. Good Luck!

Hey there, if I can add to the already stirling words of wisdom

Try not to panic, keep calm otherwise it could make you feel ill :grouphug:

You've just had a freak thing happen and communication at the earliest is now key

Firstly get yourself protected if you've not already - by opening a brand new bank account (different bank or building society) these brokers can be persistant and don't put it past them not to try again in a month or two

You also need to be really firm with the bank that has let these payments out - please don't give in and accept even if you have to write letters to the broker company to get your money back - it can be done

On a personal level after being in the same situation is contact all the payday loans companies as soon as you can - majority will work with you because they too will want a win-win situation at the lowest cost to themselves (we're all in cash stripped Britain!) and remember there is a difference between those that won't pay to those that can't pay but are willing to over an extended period of time

Happy to share my experience but for your own protection, please check and double check what myself and other Caggers inform

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.”

Don't panic, just pay what you can afford by standing order only- don't be bullied by phone calls or letters, just make your payments even while negotiating for a repayment plan which could take a while. If you are paying regularly- little and often, you are taking responsibility for the debt and no one can fault you.

Swift sterling bank details are:

Account no: 00744802

sort code; 30-00-09

reference- important- your personal loan number- 8 digits long

Good Luck -I defaulted with SS in March and pay £5 a month on an £800 loan

Could I just check that the bank account details are still correct? My daughter rather stupidly took out a loan with these people before Christmas and then lost her job!

They are a nightmare to deal with. I'm just off the phone with them and they are really abusive. Plus he also proceeded to tell me all about my daughters loan even though I'm not the account holder and refused to confirm the security details!

He told me that they do not accept repayment plans and the loan would continue to roll over with additional costs til it could be cleared in one go.

I accept that she owes the money and will make every effort to repay but this guy I spoke to was horrible saying "She's lost her job, well boohoo she still has to repay" and "We will ruin her credit report forever". I've fired a complaint off to both them and OFT. He said the call was being recorded at the beginning, I bloody hope so.

Sorry another update my partner and I rung swift sterling see my own post for details, I tried to confirm the above bank account number so that I could make token payments and the person I spoke to said they did not recognise the account number, a few members of this forum have confirmed that bank account number is correct but I was given a different number but the same sort code. So I have no idea which one is correct now I believe the people on this forum more than the swift sterling person but I don`t want to send money and they don`t receive it, any advice anyone?? Thanks.
