My electricity supplier is nPower though I think that Scottish Hydro are responsible for the infrastructure.

Last Thursday, 8th December at 12.50pm, like many in Scotland that day, my electricity supply was cut off by a falling tree caused by the strong winds. The power was not reconnected until 00.55am on Sunday morning, so I was without electricity for 60 hours.

Am I entitled to compensation from either nPower or Scottish Hydro or can they claim that it was a force majeure?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Looks like it could be quite complicated but it would be Scottish Hydro who would pay the compensation, not nPower.

The amount paid and the period for compensation depends on the severity of the weather but at the most severe level, 60 hours without power should still be compensated £50, i.e. first 48 hours @ £25 then £25 for each subsequent 12 hours.

Under normal circumstances, the compensation begins at £50 after 18 hours and £25 per subsequent 12 hours and there are three levels of weather severity.

I'd send a link to an OfGem document called Guaranteed Standards of Performance which I found earlier but the website is having database issues now and I can't find the link.
