Hi All, we bought our van about 2.5 yrs ago and only a couple of weeks ago it wasrecalled by Ford to fix a fault in the differential which was a technical fault from the factory and could cause the tyre to become detached during motion.

Last year, this actually happened to us whilst on the motorway. Fortunately, we were driving slowly (just turned into a service station at the time) but it cost us a lot of money and hassle as we were away from home and no-one seemed to be able to determine what the fault was. On top of that, we had a lot of trouble from the RAC because they refused to remove us when the wheel came off a second time on the return journey! Ford are not accepting any liability as they said we had not gone to one of their garages when it happened. Ford say that they are not liable for the costs we shelleld out to get the van repaired as it was not taken to one of their garages. Can anyone please advise?
