MKRR Phone Call

Hello,

 

My wife has just had a call from a company called MKRR (I notice they are talk about on this site) asking her about a debt she had with peter craig/littlewoods in 1997.

 

She tried to explain that she was made bankrupt in 1999 but they still thinks she owes money to them (this debt was included in the bankruptcy) yet she has never heard from anyone about this debt in the last 10 years until today and a phone call out of the blue.

 

Any ideas what she/we should do. She phoned the official receiver and they said that sometimes after 10 or so years that firms just try to recover monies.

 

But would not having firms contact her in all that time be this "statute-barred" anyway.

send them the statute barred template from the library by recorded delivery

the debt is VERY obv statue barred!!

 

they are trying to spoof you!!

 

either totally ignore them

or

fire off the SB letter from the green library tab top left

 

but as a tip:

 

NEVER EVER talk to ANYONE about your debts on the phone

 

you are under NO LEGAL OBLIGATION

to do so

 

and

 

NO DCA has ANY legal powers anyhow!!

Refuse to talk to them. If they insist on calling, record the calls – this will help if you need to act against them. For example, if you say it is statute barred and they fail to act on that or claim it is not SB, they will be in trouble.

 

MKKR are idiots – they must be to have ‘Milton Keynes’ in their name.
