    • I suggest that you send the following letter which addresses the error which I made by not specifying the contract in question.   I'm pretty convinced that you will have to put this into court so please start to get into the mindset that you are about to embark on a process of litigation.   Also please doublecheck that I'm referring to the correct contract – the front patio contract. I'm afraid I'm rather losing track of it all. If that is not the correct one then please change the letter below. Please check the letter to make sure that you are happy with it and that you're prepared to send as it is.     If you're prepared to send this letter then please send it off immediately and confirm here that it's done. There's no time for any more mucking around. Also, please have a look at the County Court money claim website and open an account there. It's all free but you need to get going and you need to start familiarising yourself with it. Please confirm that you have done this.   I will post up a draft particulars of claim later on this weekend. It won't need to be very complicated. Once again, you need to get this all sorted out and ready. I hope that maybe you are starting to realise that when you are dealing with this building company that you need to move swiftly and decisively.

    • Nothing to do with benefit cap as that does not apply due to PIP and also the LCWRA.   Under benefit rules there are some benefits which classed as being the same I.e. they provide income for daily living costs.    Because ESA and Carers Allowance are providing income, you cannot also receive similar Universal Credit income. It is a duplication of benefit to cover basic living costs.   Therefore to ensure you don't receive more benefit than you are entitled to, the UC payment calculation includes a deduction for ESA and Carers Allowance.   When second child born, you will receive an additional Children amount under UC which is about £237 a month extra.
    • Hi Andy,  yes I read that.    So I guess what we are relying on is that their application for Fast Track superseded the need to comply as the court hearing date would not go ahead due to the application for FT.    maybe clutching at straws here

Hi ,

 

I had sge loans calling me about a loan so I talk to the guy and he went through everything and I was happy. He told me that fees wouldn't be taken till I received my money and that they would be taken on my next working day. When I received a call back they said they had found me a loan with provident. at this point I decided not to go ahead with the loan.

 

So when I got up this morning 79.99 had been debited from my account by them. My pay day isnt till Friday anyway. They wont answer the customer services phones to me. The guy in sales said I'm entitled to a refund but refused to help any more telling me to call customer services I have been trying to ring since 9 o'clock but it keeps ringing out.

 

Am i entitled to my money back and any one know how I can get hold of them.

it will be hard to get your money back,bombard them with e-mails fone calls and snail mail,sge loans are just like wentworth,yes loans etc,never ever give bank details over the fone to anyone,prove would have gave u a loan without going thru a so called broker,but there interest rates are appaling avoid

They conned me too .My bank called me 3 days later to say 2 suspicious debit card payments had been declined by them (thank god).£79.99p & £1.

The guy I spoke to said no payment would be taken.The details were only for credit checking. Boy! did I fall for that. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS OVER THE PHONE UNLESS YOU TRUST THEM 100% .They should be locked up the lot of them!

they are a disgracefull company. they conned me too. I gave them my bank details and details of my payday so I could sign up to a quick payday loan. They said nothing about a premium fee and even offered me a free gift. They then took 9.99 out of my bank. I know its a small price compared to others but its the priciple of paying for something under misrepresentation. Lloyds refunded me my money as I desputed it with my bank, though they now want the money back as SGE are claiming that I agreed to the terms, even though they coincidently forgot to mention the fees. Its outrageous, I really feel for those who lost alot more of their money. Write to them and fight your case and complain. We will get justice for this injustice!!!

Hi I almost got ripped off as well, but I had a funny feeling to manages to stop it happening.. I have contated watchdog but they will need more then 1 person to complain for them to help. Please take 5 mins to fill in the watchdog got a story form.

Have a major problem with these people. First they went through all the spiel saying that had got me a loan and I could have a payday loan until payday to tide me over. Well guess what the payday loan was no problem, but the other loan did not come off and am now stuck with a major financial problem especially after they took £79.99 out of my bank without telling me. 3 days to take the money but have been told it will take 28 days to refund it.

This has now caused me a huge financial problem and I cannot see how I going to get out of the this one. Luckily the people at the tide-me-over payday loan were extremely helpful indeed.

 

Steer clear of SGE Loans as they are not a very good company. Plus I am not being bombarded with texts, emails and telephone calls from loan companies.

 

On another note, I had to keep calling this loan company until they finally admitted there would be no other loan, it is ridiculous.

I hope they get a right grilling!! 30 odd days later, no refund of £79.99 what a surprise!!! in a right pickle now!!! These people should be named and shamed and made to pay back (+compensation/interest) on money they take without permission. Bet they are earning interest while it sits in their bank account.

Just read their terms and conditions and it says and I quote section 3.1.6 - We do not charge any fee for the service of brokering short term (or payday) loands where the repayment term does not exceed one month, car finance agreements or home collected credit cash loans - well guess what - I ended up with a £300 payday loan which I didnt want and still got charged £79.99 which I am fighting to get back but they are ignoring my emails. The last email I got was last Monday said they have a backlog of refunding 'cheques' at the moment. I dont want a cheque I want MY money paid back into MY bank account the same way they took it out in the first place.

 

Who are these people governed by?? Surely there is some procedure to get these people to cease this practise.

Update as of 41 days later!! Still no cheque, SGE have passed my bank account details onto a utilities company who set up a direct debit to my bank account and they have also changed my gas and electric to a company called first:utility!!

 

How can a loan company possibly do this?? Spoke to first:utility and explained I did not authorise this switch and how did they get my bank details, was told they cannot cancel the switch over and that SGE have given them my bank details.

 

Surprise surprise no £79.99 and no response to emails now.

 

Contact West Yorkshire Trading Standards but I have received no response.

 

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I contacted Watchdog too as I have now been waiting for a refund for over 60 days. I have also contact the national media, the FSA and trading standards (although I wouldnt bother with Trading Standards as they were not interested - they never are!!!)

You should either issue a LETTER BEFORE ACTION giving them 7 days to return your money OR you can open a case with the Financial Ombudsman Service who will charge them £450 to investigate your complaint....

Well I have issued a complaint to the FSA as the OFT said there was nothing they could do, surprise surprise!!! Also I still have not have the return of my £79.99 they took on 9th October 2012 despite an email on the same date saying they would repay it in 28 days. I have sent numerous emails to these people and have had no response except a phone call stating they could save me money on my electric and gas supplier AGAIN, even though I have issued complaint after complaint. Basically told them where to get off and they gave me their 'customer service' number which is a premium rate number where I was on hold for 1 hour and 10 minutes and still didnt get to speak to anyone!!

 

HELP REQUIRED!!!!!!!!!!

Just read the terms and conditions for SGELoans and Section 3 sub section 3.1.6 clearly states, no fee is applicable on payday loans (which is all they sorted for me despite telling me they could get the loan I wanted over 12 months)

Also section 6 - termination! Also states if you cancel their premium service (didnt know they signed me up for it) I am entitled to the refund of £79.99 that I paid. Have an email confirming my refund has been approved. Terms and conditions say within 30 days. It has now been 70 days and now refund.

 

Plus they have now messed up my credit as I am having to use payday loans to sort out my montly finances, which is taking £500 per month of me as I have to keep borrowing it back!!!

 

Urgent help seriously needed as SGE Loans have screwed me over big time and are now ignoring my emails and they dont answer the phone (premium number)!!!

If it was me I would be opening up a case with the FOS or issuing a LETTER BEFORE ACTION immediately....

If it was me I would be opening up a case with the FOS or issuing a LETTER BEFORE ACTION immediately....

 

I have sent a letter to the FSA but no reply as yet! Is the FOS the same thing or is this a different authority?? Getting fed up with SGE as they have messed me up big time!

FOS is different, they will charge SGE £450 just to investigate your complaint....

Well as soon as I got the FOS involved, I got my £79.99 back, only 3 and half months later with a stroppy letter from some guy saying it was nothing to do with the FOS!! Funny how they sorted it when the FOS got involved!!!

I'd love to see the letter....can you post it up ? They are probably a bit stroppy as the FOS charge £450 just to investigate your complaint....the main thing is that in the end the result was positive

I will try to scan it and attach. I laughed when they said it was nothing to do with the FOS. Why pay up now then when they have got involved.

Only problem now is they have messed my finances up big time with a stupid payday loan company and need to resolve that now.

It never rains but it pours!!! Go from one pile of crap to the next!!

SGE is a [problem] company, plz be aware and stay away from this company. I had a call from sge today from Sarah, the alarms bell started ringing when she had to ask me 5 times for my address, then she didn't even know that the small dash in email address is called underscore when i told her she seemed embarrassed and replied "is that what it's called". She then went on to ask for my debit card number just to verify my details that when alarms bell started to ring even more about this company, I refused to give any debit card details until I received something in black and white from the company, she then passed me to another department while she was doing this I started to look up sge loans on the Internet and came across this thread. The second person I was transferred to I told her to cancel everything because I've just found out there a [problem] company and put the phone down on her.

About an hour later I had a call from sge loans again someone called Thomas was on the phone, he stated that I hadn't completed my application that's when I stopped him and said to him plz explain to me why there are multiple people who have written that sge loans is a [problem] fraud company, I read him a couple off the comments people have written about the way they have been scammed by this company, he couldn't explain anything and was lost for words and told me that there is a premium price which sge loans charge but he couldn't tell me more and said customer service dept would know more. I asked Thomas that all those working for sge loans do they not have a conscious that they are [causing problems] people and leaving them worse off he had no comment to state and said if you speak to customer service department they will be able to help you and put the phone down on me.

I am so angry that companies like sge loans are operating in our society why isn't anything being done to get rid off these fraud companies.
