Good morning CAG'ers,

Following some excellent guidance recently I am ploughing my way through negotiating debts with various companies... but I have one issue...

I am dealing with Moorcroft to sort out my overdue water bills... I have tried to tell them I can only afford £10 approx a month but they insist that as they are a priority debt, I have to pay £60 p month. I just wont be able to maintain that and WILL end up in more trouble.

Can anyone advise what minimum repayment they might have managed to agree? I am not sure how to handle the priority bit.. pls help as I intend calling them again today.

With thanks,

P

Various water companies have trust funds which are designed to help people who are having difficulties with utility bills. Depending on your circumstances you may be able to get some help, see; http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?100405-****Utilities-Trust-Fund****(1-Viewing)-nbsp

Water is not a priority debt. Moorcroft are wrong. The water company is not allowed to cut off your supply, so while it used to be, it is no longer considered a priority. If they don't believe you tell them to look at a Common Financial Statement, pay your £10.00 and say if they're still convinced it is a priority you suggest they take you to court.

typical crap from moorcrap.

ignore them and pay what you can easily afford.

water is not a priority debt

watch out for charges too

do you know the original figure?

as with all debts...get reclaiming!

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
