Hi, wonder if anyone can give me some pointers or advice.

I bought a car on HP 18 months ago and I am half way through the agreement.

Car broke down, engine management light came on had to be towed home. Car was towed to garage yesterday and told that they have hooked it up to computer and it has a serious ecu and automatic gearbox problem.

They are currently doing more tests on it.

This is probably going to cost an absolute fortune and there is no way that I can afford the cover the cost of an ecu and an auto gearbox which will be probably more than the value of the car.

If the car is going to be uneconomically viable to get put right, what are my options?

Many thanks jb000

Just to update,

Car now fixed, not nearly as bad as orginally feared. Car needed coil pack, apparently Citroens are notorious for this, new battery and semi auto gearbox software updated, still nearly 300 quid lighter but could have been worse.
