Hello

My neighbor who lives a few doors down from me has a young girl 10 years old. Ten weeks ago the young girl had a allergic reaction to something.

Symptoms. Head swelled up, pus came out of body. Ten weeks on head is now normal size, pus is still coming from neck and head area, and hair falls out in clumps. The doctors at our local hospital that carried out tests could not come up with any explanation.

Their local GP who would not refer them to a specialist ten weeks ago has come to his senses and referred the young girl, but she cannot be seen till end of October.

Is there anything my neighbor can do to try and get the appointment earlier?

(Not a food allergic reaction by the way)

Thanks

PS. If anyone has any advice on the symptoms. I'd be most grateful.

Hello

My neighbor who lives a few doors down from me has a young girl 10 years old. Ten weeks ago the young girl had a allergic reaction to something. What was she doing at the time of the allergic reaction?

Bitten by anything? touching something? taken something? someone spray something? has she had anything like this before?

Symptoms. Head swelled up, pus came out of body. May help to be a bit more specific!

Head swelled up.........face? lips?

Where was the pus coming from?.............bite?

Ten weeks on head is now normal size, pus is still coming from neck and head area, Can you be more specific about the info please? Pus from a site.........swab taken? antibiotics?.........started before or after the allergic reaction?

and hair falls out in clumps. Hair loss can be stress related.

The doctors at our local hospital that carried out tests What sort of tests?.......blood tests? could not come up with any explanation.

Their local GP who would not refer them to a specialist ten weeks ago has come to his senses and referred the young girl, but she cannot be seen till end of October.

Is there anything my neighbor can do to try and get the appointment earlier? Probably not if it's not urgent.

(Not a food allergic reaction by the way) can you be sure?

Thanks

PS. If anyone has any advice on the symptoms. I'd be most grateful.

Anybody suffering from an allergic reaction that starts to affect their face or lips swelling needs urgent medical attention by calling an ambulance or getting straight to A&E.

Simpler skin reactions or sneezing can be sorted with an over the counter antihistamine.
