We put our house up for sale about 3 years ago with West Wales properties. After no joy and generally awful service we have taken it off. They are now asking for £114 towards expenses. I now this was in the contract when we signed it so I can't really complain but as I bank with Nationwide who won't give me a cheque book and charge £10 to issue a cheque at a branch I have told West Wales properties that if they want paying by cheque I will charge them £10. The have replied that they won't accept it as its not on to charge for a cheque from a current account.

I think I am in my rights to insist on £10 if they want a cheque what do others think?
