Can someone please tell me when old accounts drop off your credit file. I have a very old credit card account, my Equifax report today shows default date of 25/7/2005 and there is a last updated date in 2008.

Would it be 6 years from date of default, ie Monday just gone or would it be 6 years from the last update? I have not contacted either Cap 1 or Lowell since defaulting.

The default will drop off after 6 years paid or not.

The SB date is the date of the last payment or acknowledgment

in writing so is earlier than the default, don't expect it to drop off on the

day, it depends when they update files.

The sub human intelligence levels of the

operatives who place the data is the cause,

it seem almost robotic, make a mistake

and keep on making it.
