Just to show and proove how useless the recording cameras are at M way services and how totally stupid the Parking companies are:

We ( the firm) have just received a Parking Charge Notice in respect of an artic of ours that entered a services at 730 in the morning and is alleged to have exited at 8 ish that night.

What actually happened is yes he did enter the services at 730, diesel'd up and went off on about 6 hours deriving and a couple of hundred miles. He then returned to depot, picked up another trailor and re entered the same services to fuel.

The muppets cannot seem to understand this, despite having beeen sent a copy of the digital tacho print out which shows that unless he was driving round and round the lorry park at up to 56 mph, he was elsewhere.

The "penalty" must stand, they say, so, being a good and well educated CAgger, I have advised management that they should ignore, ignore and if that fails say "See you in Court" where 'is honour will pull your wings off

maybe just a quick letter to them. Thank you for demonstrating that not only does your ANPR system not function correctly but that you do not in fact investigate any cases.

I'd be more worried about getting a spot check from VOSA/DfT/Police in relation to the drivers hours.

The reference to HE seems to imply a single man crew? 0730 - 2000 Hrs is well over the permitted..

How about

1. Mobile worker allowed 15 hrs max( excluding breaks) Working Time directive

2. I made no ref to breaks/POA taken within the period - I hasten to add this driver had his card "read" just lately and the period in question was totaly correct as was his eventual finish time that day

My point is, these so called parking companies are a) chronically stupid and b) cannot read a phot scan or have accurate info

Sorry but I think you're wrong about the driving times...

But that's your business, private parking charge will go away if completely ignored.

Good luck.
