I sent letter off to Barclays asking for a refund of my charges last week. I have now received a response, the usual standard letter of "... sorry you are not happy with our level of service bla bla..... and a terms & conditions leaflet. They have said they will reply by 11 October 2006, however the 14 days deadline expires on 28 September so i will be sending out the LBA on that date.

A couple of questions:

1. Should i respond to their letter in the meantime or just wait and send LBA on 28 September?

2. Do i have to acknowledge receipt of their recent letter in my LBA???

Their letter is simply an acknowledgement of your preliminary letter. Stick to your timetable, and send out the LBA on 28th September as planned. You dont really need to ackowledge their letter

You probably receive an offer from them for something 30% of what you are claiming.

Most are accepting this offer, with the proviso that they intend to pursue their claim for the balance.

Good luck
