Has anyone raised the point about his van being taken when it's part of his Tools of Trade? Without his van, presumably he can't be expected to catch public transport with all his equipment etc - did they take it with his tools of trade in the back also?

If they took the van i would imagine they wouldn't have let him remove his tools, thus sending him onto nothing because self employed people cannot claim JSA, so they won't get their money beyond sale of the unlawfully levied van, for which they can be sued later perhaps., A lose lose scenario for the bailiff imho

We could do with some help from you.

The bailiff: A 12th Century solution re-branded as Enforcement Agents for the 21st Century to seize and sell debtors goods as before Oh so Dickensian!

He could probably get a court order for the return of the van, without any of the fees charged for it. He could potentially negotiate with the creditor to bypass the baliffs also. Then he can sue his old company for the cost for not sorting it out in the first place!
