pls what missing signs, like what? is it the sign post to say the time restriction? yes i have posted the pic as well (#47)

We told you what signs to check out on page one of this thread, we have already explained that there have to be CPZ signs on both sides of the road at EVERY possible entrance into the zone to get to where you parked:

QUOTE

'Get someone to check & take a pic of EVERY possible entrance to that CPZ and where the signs are (left hand side only?).

If time is running out then bung in an appeal based on not seeing any signs and that you believe there were not signs on both sides of the road anyway at the entrance to the zone.

QUOTE

All you had to do was check for 2 signs at every possible entrance to that zone. If you haven't done that, it's what you must do now. TBH if you cannot do that you may as well just pay up IMHO, and I never normally say that to anyone!

Forget questions about the white lines which is irrelevant since you parked on one of the yellow lines within what the Council alleges is a CPZ.

Sadly thats what happens when people that do not know what they are talking about side track people with questions about bay markings, being on the footway etc when neither are relevant.

No but that was on the entrance to the road.

It's not relevant unless the entrance to the road is where the CPZ starts. The signs you should be looking at are at the points where cars enter the controlled zone. Probably not the end of this specific street.

To be honest that is the only sign at the entrance of the road. Nothing more except the one one I posted in #47 which is on the actual street. Pls what do you advice?

If assume that the google map is up-2-date, then that CPZ area have missing plates on other entrance too.

1) Entry from Holgate Road junction with Standfield Road http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Rogers+Road,+Barking&aq=0&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=20.331269,57.084961&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Rogers+Rd,+Barking,+Greater+London+RM10+8,+United+Kingdom&layer=c&cbll=51.544422,0.153947&panoid=Rw9TlA0w2NgncsKgSyWB2A&cbp=12,253.83,,0,8.45&ll=51.5444,0.153809&spn=0.010409,0.027874&z=16

2) Entry from Heathway (at junction with Alibon Road), again only one CPZ sign http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Rogers+Road,+Barking&aq=0&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=20.331269,57.084961&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Rogers+Rd,+Barking,+Greater+London+RM10+8,+United+Kingdom&layer=c&cbll=51.547918,0.147685&panoid=WNK_yGAXijoqOYurNtzQ_Q&cbp=12,188.63,,0,3.53&ll=51.548016,0.147672&spn=0.020816,0.055747&z=15

3) No CPZ sign coming from Halbutt Street (which looks like it's not in CPZ, notice time plate for single yellow lines) to Heathway http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Rogers+Road,+Barking&aq=0&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=20.331269,57.084961&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Rogers+Rd,+Barking,+Greater+London+RM10+8,+United+Kingdom&layer=c&cbll=51.546319,0.147359&panoid=IYOlfXq_JxfsP4wvYrD8Yw&cbp=12,149.57,,0,11.5&ll=51.546388,0.147285&spn=0.020924,0.055747&z=15

4) Another with single side CPZ sign at Pettit's road j/w Sterry Road http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Rogers+Road,+Barking&aq=0&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=20.331269,57.084961&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Rogers+Rd,+Barking,+Greater+London+RM10+8,+United+Kingdom&layer=c&cbll=51.545973,0.149632&panoid=G6MHcKig-2yEQ-_NgoVrig&cbp=12,88.26,,0,13.65&ll=51.545988,0.149775&spn=0.020924,0.055747&z=15

Notice CPZ end sign across the juction . Wow zone is only valid the width of road???? :-)

5) Is this now enough???? Again on Reede Road (junction with Standfield Road) http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Rogers+Road,+Barking&aq=0&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=20.331269,57.084961&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Rogers+Rd,+Barking,+Greater+London+RM10+8,+United+Kingdom&layer=c&cbll=51.543192,0.154609&panoid=8u_dJGEKztT25ANkjy3n-A&cbp=12,243.2,,0,9.15&ll=51.543239,0.154753&spn=0,0.111494&z=14

you are very right same information....pls do i based the appeal on that tomorrow is my last day guys

In post number 12 on the first page I already explained what to do:

QUOTE

just to make it clear, you can still win on appeal!

Get someone to check & take a pic of EVERY possible entrance to that CPZ and where the signs are (left hand side only?).

If time is running out then bung in an appeal based on not seeing any signs and that you believe there were not signs on both sides of the road anyway at the entrance to the zone.

QUOTE

Then in my next post I also told you about the missing CPZ signs on Googlestreetview, you only had to look not wait for other people to give you links...

I know you are worried but you have been told what CPZ signage to look for and that's what you must check out. At least look on Google maps please, as already suggested (although the images may be out of date).

I just looked there and not even knowing where the house is I could see the driveways with a yellow line in front of them, in between each run of residents' bays. And I could see a CPZ sign (a SINGLE CPZ sign on the left hand side of the carriageway only) at the junction with Holgate Road. Also at the entrance to Holgate Road (which leads to Rogers Road) there's only one sign at the approach at its junction with Standfield Road.

Someone needs to physically check if the signs are still missing on the right hand side of ANY possible entrance into the CPZ. Find one missing and that's your way out.

Also you have not posted a pic of the front & back of the P.C.N, please do. Just a digital photo, someone's phone must have a camera?

So why the sudden surprise at being given the same links you could have seen yourself days ago, and why the heck could your friend not see the signs? This is a very frustrating thread. All you have to do is bung in an informal appeal by letter or maybe email, the PCN tells you how.

What makes you think tomorrow is your last day? What is the date on the PCN?

Have you shown us a pic of the PCN yet?

Hi guys this is what i was able to collate together in terms of the appeal letter please help me am i on the right track

Dear,

[Reference:

Penalty Charge Notice number: xxxxx

Date of issue: xxxxx

Vehicle registration: xxxxx]

I am writing to formally challenge the above Penalty Charge Notice.

On the 14th of May 2011, my vehicle was issued with a Penalty Charge Notice for the reason of Parking in a restricted place during prescribed hours

In accordance with the Road Traffic Act 1991, my challenge is on the basis that the contravention did not occur. The reason been that the on entry to the Rogers road via Reede road the CPZ was missing the sign was not found. On rogers road where i parked it was in front of the house owner driveway in which he has permitted the car to be parked. L could not park in the white dotted allocated bay because of the time plate that were noticed for this period.

For this reason I look forward to receiving notification that the Penalty Charge Notice has been cancelled within 28 days.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Parking services,

I wish to make representations against the PCN issued to me on the 14th May 2011 PCN no. abc123 . The grounds for representation are that the contravention did not occur. The PCN states that I was parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours. The Council has a duty to place a sign on the yellow line to inform drivers the hours of the restriction, the only exception to this is if the line is in a CPZ. A CPZ by law is an area in which every entrance is signed on both sides of the road with a CPZ sign indicating the hours of restriction. Upon driving to the location I parked I was not aware of these signs. I have since retraced my steps and found that the Council has failed to correctly place signs on both sides of the road by law which is why I misstook the hours of the parking restriction. If you decide not to cancel my PCN could you please forward photographic proof that on the day I parked that each entrance to the zone was lawfully marked and the traffic order for the short stretch of yellow line I stopped on.

ps The RTA 1991 is only used in Scotland do not include it!!
