Evening All

 

I have had a few problems in repaying back the above company i have been given three chances to repay this loan off but due to unforeseen circumstances have not. I emailed them over the weekend just gone stating that i could not repay them until my next pay day which is the end of may. They said this is not acceptable and my case is now going to be passed over to debt recovery agents & i could go to court over this. I am ashamed in the first place for taking the loan out and gradually dug myself in a deeper hole. My question is to all is what are debt recovery agents? I do not want these people knocking at my door as i live with family who do not know about the loan and i fear i would get thrown out if they found out. I will repay the Loan on my next payday but what can i expect until then? Advice would be much appreciated thanks

I had problems with them as well, and it took an account manager to solve the problem.

 

Answer your phone to them and explain or they will keep ringing, even as late as 9.40pm...

Keep emailling them to advise. A debt recovery agents are just debt collection companies, who will write first. They will threaten to call, but rarely do.... I will find a template on here, which you can send off, telling them not to bother calling at the house, as they are not permitted to.

 

Payday companies are always harsh when talking to people, ringing this lot is a no go as you can expect to be on hold anywhere from 10-45mins.... though if you go to www.activesecurities.com they have a landline number there whereas their main website is 10p 0871 number!

Thanks for the reply fully appreciated. I have already gone through a account manager with 247 Money Box but today he contacted myself saying unless you can repay today they cannot do anything else. I said whats the next step? There response was that it will be passed on to debt collection & recovery agents to COME TO MY HOUSE AND RECOVER THE GOODS TO THE VALUE OWED. I do not want this happening i just want a letter first and then pay off a.s.a.p. if they come to my house then i am in a lot of trouble. Please Advise. Thanks

i would report to OFT so i would.

 

Firstly, if you fail, and dont pay, they can pass to DCA, only if you continue not to pay or refuse, can you be taken to court.... only at this point can they get an oder of the court to collect goods from your home.

 

Without a court order, THEY CANT take goods from your home. So again all HOT AIR!!! All they are doin is trying to scare you, but its a loada blarney. DCA's are easier to deal with in most cases, but they will write to your house.

 

Keep Badgering them, il post the link for that letter later.

Are you dealing with them by telephone?? You really shouldnt. You want that threat "recovery agents to COME TO MY HOUSE AND RECOVER THE GOODS TO THE VALUE OWED." in writing it is a threat:-), you are nowhere near that stage so dont worry. What was the name of the account manager that said this??

 

THEY WONT COME TO YOUR HOUSE PLEASE DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT its months off you will sort this well before that. sleep well.

Thanks for both replies both very much helpful and appreciated. I guess what i am trying to say is that whats the first step with these people the debt recovery team. Do they write to you first? Or do these people just turn up and demand you give them the money because i have a feeling the family know something is up and i just do not want these people turning up and making demands. I can handle it if these people write to me and i will deal with it on my next pay date but any other things like turning up on my doorstep and i am finished. Also when spoke with 247 Money Box today they said the process is very quickly dealt with in other words there going to send a letter or come banging at me door pretty soon how long does it usually take to process something like that? Thanks as always guys.

they make it sound to be quicker than it actually happens....

in most cases when you ignore a DCA, they will threaten a doorstep visit, but again these are empty threats....

As you say you will clear end of ay so DONT PANIC... PANIC is what they want you to do!

DO NOT WORRY. Nobody is coming to your home that is months away IF EVER. They just wana scare you. Do NOT speak to them on the phone only email. I'm currently in a payment plan with 5 payday loans all going well, also have 1(cashchoiceuk) I havnt heard a single thing for just over four months. amazing. If u can afford to pay them on your p.day then pay them off original loan amout with the 1month interest NOTHIN more. Email them when your paying and how much. Av a good read through here lots of good info for you.
