https://www.gov.uk/applying-for-probate https://farewill.com/articles/how-long-does-probate-take#:~:text=Probate usually takes 1-3,sell property and pay taxes. It does seem to be a bit of a farce - and yes, I imagine currently they are incredibly busy, but you sent your paperwork back in July of last year. It does seem very unfair. It looks to me from information on the above links that it can take anything from 1 - 3 months and even up to 12 months or more, depending on the complexity of the will. Needless to say, I hope you are not left waiting too much longer - especially as some of the delay appears to be the loss of documents. I will bring your query to the attention of those on the site team who have more experience in this area than I do.

Had a chat with manager. wanted to know when my girlfriend received her test which was Friday 8th jan when I was at work with my colleague. so i isolated with her when I got back. Then I received mine in the Saturday 9th. I did ask about employers covid testing policy, and said it was all rushed, and didn’t go through it correctly. boss said there is a section, if take test you must stay at home. To be honest, wasn’t explained correctly and section were added it bit by bit. I did asked about disciplinary procedure. was it : 1 verbal mans two written warnings ? He said yes. I have no verbal or any written warnings and been with them 3 years I think. Then next stage is a typed up summary of I guess what’s happened, then the disciplinary. I also asked about work colleague, he was not really eating his food, but getting better, also his parents have no symptoms. So I don’t know where I stand at the moment.

Ive already applied for JR. I am waiting for the Councils response now. The issue is: they decided to remove me as a councillor (oct 2020) for not emailing them for six months. Meetings were suspended in March 2020. The law states in the LGA that councillors can only be removed for non attendance of meetings over six months. Also says, if meetings are suspended that period does not count. Anyway... thats not why im here. The parish council are now using the borough councils legal team... and thats what i wanted to question. Parish councils are independent so using a borough council legal team i think is a bit shady?? Or maybe not...? -

Post in Court Claim Against Hermes - item sent via Packlink was lost/tampered with **WON**
jj58 posted a post in a topic,
Hi @BankFodder
Sorry for only updating you now, but after your guidance with submitting the claim it was pretty straight forward and I didn't want to unnecessarily waste your time. Especially with this guide you wrote here, so many thanks for that
So I issued the claim on day 15 and they requested more time to respond.
They took until the last day to respond and denied the claim, unsurprisingly saying my contract was with Packlink and not with them.
I opted for mediation, and it played out very similarly to other people's experiences.
In the first call I outlined my case, and I referred to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 as the reason to why I do in fact have a contract with them.
In the second call the mediator came back with an offer of the full amount of the phone and postage £146.93, but not the court costs. I said I was not willing to accept this and the mediator came across as a bit irritated that I would not accept this and said I should be flexible. I insisted that the law was on my side and I was willing to take them to court. The mediator went back to Hermes with what I said.
In the third call the mediator said that they would offer the full amount. However, he said that Hermes still thought that I should have taken the case against Packlink instead, and that they would try to recover the court costs themselves from Packlink.
To be fair to them, if Packlink wasn't based in Spain I would've made the claim against them instead. But since they are overseas and the law lets me take action against Hermes directly, it's the best way of trying to recover the money.
So this is a great win. Thank you so much for your help and all of the resources available on this site. It has helped me so much especially as someone who does not know anything about making money claims.
Many thanks, stay safe and have a good Christmas!
