Hi there,

Bascially boys and girls im currently 36 weeks pregnant and the last few months ive been trying to sort out my finances as best as i can before bump gets here. Had progress with catalogues and credit cards and now i am thinking about tackling the payday loans that i stupidly...stupidly....stupidly got!!

I could kick myself for ever being so naive and stupid but thats what i was and ill be honest borrowed from a fair few of them round about the same time to pay for each other. Turns out it gets out of control....ha who knew!!!

I have payday loans with Wonga/Cash Genie/24/7 Moneybox.

Wonga passed the account to a dca who i set up an agreement with to pay about £15.00 a month....I defaulted on that agreement, it was apparently passed back to wonga......i havent heard anything from them for a few months.

Cash Genie I had set up an arrangement of £20.00 per month which i defaulted on but havent heard from them for months either.

24/7 moneybox i never set up any agreement etc but get regular texts and emails about defaulted balance.

I would just like some advice on what i should do here. Upon researching it doesnt look like the balance are increasing....but who knows with these people.

Should I contact them...or wait for them to conatct me.

Can I get some of the previous charges/interest refunded and if so how do i go about this?

Just anyadvice in general about these would be great before they catch up with me.....ya just know they will and i thought if i get there first armed with what i can and cant do....it may help.

Thanking you xxxxxxx

My advice - and I will point out now I am no expert - is to write to all your creditors asking for the balance that you owe them to this point. Before you can tackle the debts, you should find out what you owe and where. At this point, you will be able to consider your options. You should be able to make another arrangement with each one to pay what you can afford each month whilst freezing any interest and charges. This is damaging to your credit rating but probably not as bad as defaulting on many agreements.

There are many other options but I should think that people will be able to give you better advice once you know exactly what amounts you are dealing with from each company. With regards to charges / interest, I don't think you can get interest refunded but you may be able to claim back some charges. You would have to wait for an expert here to help you with that though.

Brilliant,

Thanks for the advice :-)

I will get in contact with them and endeavour to find out who is dealing with the balances and what they actually stand at etc and then come back and hopefully get some further advice.
