The Council will use the argument of administration, paper, envelopes. postage, staff costs etc.

Hi

Having a problem over council tax arrears. I initially owed £136 (missed a payment last year) but have now reduced this to £50. I received a summons yesterday informing me that my LA will be issuing a LO and the debt has now increased to £120 - £50 debt plus £70 summons meaning the debt has increased by about 120%. Are they allowed to do this and is there any way of challenging the summons
