Me and my ex partner rented a flat together, I paid a total of 2 grand in order to get us in there.

He was an abuser and I'm now finally free, however it was impossible for me to stay in the flat and help because I was deemed as high risk due to him stalking and harassing.

But, the landlord see's this as no real reason to want to leave and in turn is sueing me for 2 months rent and a leaving charge equaling to £2000 pounds and my ex is recieving no such court summon.

If anyone knows a way I can get him to pay his half I'd appreciate it as my father is my guarantor and none of us can pay such an ammount of money.

Besides, he's made my life hell and I can no longer return to the area I call home so is this fair :/?

Welcome to the CAG

Not fair but such is life.

Was the agreement made in your sole name ?

What is the breakdown of the 2 grand ?

Have you had a summons served and if so what is the date it was issued ?

If this was a joint agreement and the landlord issues a claim, then you would either have to defend all.or else part of the claim.

You would then need to sue your ex for his share but obv would need to know the address to serve.

Its difficult to advise without knowing more.

You should request a breakdown of any additional charges or fees outside the actual rent.
