hi folks, i called barclays last tuesday to ask for all my charges to be reimbursed. i was told that my complaint would be dealt with in 5 working days, obviously it has'nt.

what should i do next ?

ps. i have now got thae bank statements i ordered on the same day. they took 2 days to come.

want to feel like i am getting a fair deal, i think thats what we all want. !!

Hi Barrie,

 

They obviously didn't listen properly - a request for refund could hardly be called a complaint (unless you specifically said that you were complaining)

 

However, you have your details - the next step is to calculate what they owe you (penalty charges and interest on the penalty charges) and send them the first letter before action (available in the library)

 

Would suggest sending this by some form of recorded post, just so that you can confirm it was delivered.

 

Whilst waiting on their response, read up on your next step - second letter before action, and decide on the way you will deal with their (likely) refusal or 50% offer.

 

You set the timetable - you stick to it.
