Thanks to all of you. I'm touched!

I took a slightly risky route which I would not recommend but ...........

I already had all my statements so didn't see the need to send a DPA letter.

My first contact with Halifax (and others) was an immediate 7 day demand for payment with the threat that court action would commence after this.

They tried the usual delay tactics of saying they needed more time to investigate etc. I submitted the papers into court on day 8.

Halifax submitted an acknowledgement with an intention to defend and on the 14th day they paid!

21 days in total!

I have done the same with woolwich, Barclaycard and Capital One.

Capital One did the same as Halifax and then paid on the 13th day.

I expect to see a letter from Barclaycard when I get home tonight.

Woolwich is 1 week later than the above so that should conclude this time next week!

I've enjoyed every minute of this! The banks have had their own way far to long and it is an absolute pleasure watching them fold under pressure from this group!

As I said earlier, I would NOT recommend this as the route to take. Its just that I take risks easily and saw this as 'nothing to lose'.

The advice given by Bankfodder and others is 'the best way' without a doubt. These guys really know what they are doing!

Good luck to everyone. I'll be watching with interest!
