Hi people. Long time no see.

I'm in the process of helping a couple of friends of mine with a problem and need some up to date advice

These two friends run a small time curtain making making business. Very small scale. They did some work for an interior designer last year for about 10 months. All was going well until the end of last ear when she started moaning about the quality of some of the work. She then refused to pay about £2000 for work done. Her complaints about the workmanship are very spurious indeed and any small problems my friends have put right at their expense. She was sent a first and final letter befor action. She has replied threatening to counter sue for over 8000 for loss of business and additional expenses incurred as a result of my friends alleged poor workmanship. My friends are happy to pursue her through the scc but I'm a little unsure of the procedure if she counter sues. If she counter sues for £8000 could it end up being put outside of the scc and as such e issue of costs need to be considered.

Any advice would be welcome

Hi

Welcome to The Consumer Action Group.

I am just letting you know that as you haven't had any replies to your post yet, it might be better if you post your message again in an appropriate sub-forum. You will get lots of help there.

Also take some time to read around the forum and get used to the layout. It is a big forum and takes a lot of getting used to.

Once you start to find your way, you will soon realise that it is fairly easy to get round and to get the help you need.

It can be bit confusing at first.

Please be advised that my time will be limited for the next few weeks. Thanks for your understanding.
