    • Hi all.   I have an ongoing complaint registered with HSBC and they told me last week that I’ve got to wait until the manager dealing with this gets back from her annual leave at the start of July! I’m very unhappy about this - is there anything I can do other than complain about this, which I have?
    • I was in a similar situation a long time ago. After the first messing about from the buyer for a front light not working which i fixed at his address, i got another text about worn tyres. Next day i went there with cash, bought the bike back and sold it to someone else.  Some mugs think that they buy a 20 year old vehicle from a private individual and it must be in showroom conditions with full warranty.  If you can, get the quad back and sell it to a more normal person. This is a mick taking monkey and will call you for years to come even for a puncture.
    • Morning. Just putting together my sar. The template letter asks for an account number and in the body of the letter again an account number as a starting point for reference. Dx did state not to put an account number in the letter so is it ok to just put my full name, dob and current and previous addresses to help them find me?  Many thanks.
    • oops already cashed the cheque as I'd read somewhere that it would just be removed from the new claim if successful.   I take it that's that then now?
    • My personal experiences of Future Comms    Don't touch them owe me £500 since January 2019 make excuse after excuse. Seem they always have software problems sending money out. • This is a bit of a lengthy one but I’ll summerise best as possible.

THIS IS HOW THE PHONECALL WENT

I was contacted by future comms by phone, they stated that they could beat any phone contract I have , (I am a limited company but just myself that needs a business phone and I am the only worker)
I told future comms my deal, £110 per month with a phone and a virtual landline, they confirmed that they could beat that, £90 per month with a phone , virtual landline  they also confirmed they would pay Vodafone (previous provider) the termination fee. As I am in business, naturally I was open to making a deal. So we proceeded.
Future comms then revealed that the contract would be with PLAN.COM and the airtime would be provided by 02, I instantly told them that this would break the deal as I have poor 02 signal in the house where I live as my partner is on 02 and constantly complaining about bad signal
the salesman assured me he would send a signal booster box out with the phone so I would have perfect signal.
      so far so good.....
i then explained this is the only mobile phone I use for business and pleasure, so therefore I didn’t want any disconnection time in the slightest between the switchover from Vodafone to 02
the salesman then confirmed that the existing phone would only be disconnected once the new phone was switched on.
      so far so good....

I have a council tax debt that has been passed to the Baliff, Equita. They wrote to say they were coming so I wrote to the council tax dept, including a £10 payment and asked that they take the debt back and negotiate with me directly. They responded by accepting the £10, but refusing to take the account back from Equita. But, he has included a budget form for me to fill in and return. Today the Baliff claims to have been to remove goods - although I doubt it as my partner has been in all day and says he's not seen anyone. Amusingly, they've put a letter through the door stating they are coming back with immediate effect. They've also included a schedule of items they think they will take, which details a car that's not mine!

should I call the council tax guy and ask if he will at least call off the Baliff while we are communicate?

Also have a DCA calling me at work - everyday! Is this allowed?

Any advice as to the next step to take please.

Sorry didn't even introduce myself - as my username suggests - I'm in a pickle emotionally at the present time. Trying to stay calm!

Ring the bailiff, usually a contact num given, and tell them you have received direct communication from the council to pay them instead of bailiff. Tell the Council Tax staff contact to ring bailiff to confirm this.

Thanks Determinator but that's not true and, in the interests of pride, I am determined not to lie. Is this a silly stance to take?

You have rec'd a budget form from the council. This is confirmation the council will negotiate with you to find a payment solution. I would also offer to pay them something straight away to get the ball rolling. Probably a good idea to go to the Council offices and sit with them whilst it gets sorted.

Hi Determindator,

Yes - there's been an update. I emailed the council asking them to call off the baliff, and sneekily paid another £10 through the online payments system, until we had at least finished the budget sheet process which they have agreed to do. So, I have 14 days grace from baliff visits. However, the council are saying that I need to pay at least £100 each month. There's just no way I can afford that and they'll see that's the case when I send in the budget sheet to them. The baliff has not left anything detailing how much hey have charged us, just the standard removal letter and a schedule detailing what they wanted to take.

Thanks for your help I will update as and when I've sent in the budget sheet and had a reply.

have you had a read of this

your doing well keep paying the council what you can afford

find out from your council who administrates the council tax as a rule if Equita are the bailiffs Capita administrate the council tax and they own Equita

if you need to write a complaint letter make sure you address it the Head of finance (his name should be on councils website)

Hi Hallowitch,

Thanks that's very interesting - I'll defo be looking into that.

The baliff is Equita.

I feel quite calm at the moment. The DCA's have also calmed down - they've stopped phoning me at work, so that's under control.
