Hi All

i am new to the forum and would like some advise

My Ex landlord is seeking £270 for damage to the TV system on the flat i moved out of 2 months ago. He claims the system was tampered with and is blaming me as he had seen the junction box open on 2 occasions. I had told him we looked in the box but never touched anything, the only signal I ever had came in to the living room and no other points work in the property. A new tenant is in the property, how do i knowthey did not damage anything or the landlord for that matter. Can he ask for more money from me when he checked me out and returned my deposit?

I am also worried he will take me to small claims court

If he has returned your deposit then there is no immediate panic.

If he can prove you tampered with the equiptment then he has a case but he clearly can't espescially as he has had a new tenant in for some time since you left.

State your case to him in writing and leave it at that. I doubt he would take you to small claims with such a weak case.
