not at this address yet still harrassed

Hi all

 

I have received several letters for a person that does not live at my address. I have also had a visit from a debt collector after the same person which was not pleasant. Despite returning the mail unopened return to sender every time and and telling this bloke several times to leave as the person does not live here, I am still being harrassed. Thankfully I've not had any phone calls but it could be on the cards. Are there any templates I can use when returing the unopened mail to stop the harrassment.

In a word, no. Debtors have been known to write 'Gone Away' on unwanted mail so it will not be taken seriously. The best tactic is to catch the postman and hand them back - he will then put a Not Delivered sticker, stating that the adressee isn't there - and it taken more seriously.

 

As for the phone - unless the debtor had this number in the past, you'll not be bothered.

Incidentally the DCA is someone called Wescot and I'm assuming they are as bad as the rest of them.
