I have browsed through the forums and I know that many are having similar issues however I had an unautherised overdraft on one of my accounts due to a previous pay day lender using my card details to reclaim all the money I owed which resulted in me getting charged £5 a day from my bank and the debt spiralling to in excess of £2000. I serviced this debt a little and then broke my arrangement (with halifax btw) and this resulted in them emptying my other accounts which it just so happens I get paid into. (didnt have enough time to change banks and give my employer new details). Here is a quick breakdown of what I owe to who as of today:

Wageday Advance: £160

24/7 Moneybox £150

Capitol Finance One: £290

Tower Capital: £150

Cheque Centres: £900

Halifax: £900

Cheque centres previously broke data protection on a recorded phone call, I let them listen to my recording and I havnt heard anything since (1.5 months ago) or had any letters. I'm not worried about this at the moment as they are nopt shouting. I'm aware I'll have to deal with it eventually.

My main concern is that all these lenders apart from Halifax have my work phone number, and personal calls in my job are prohibited. Tower Capital have already broke data protection today by discussing details of my loan and advising that I had missed my repayment to one of my collegues while I was away from my desk, as he answered "my name's phone." I'm not sure what I can do about it but needless to say I'm quite embaressed about it, it's just a good job he's a friend as well as a collegue otherwise I'd be in with the management atm.

I need to come up with an arrangement on how to pay these back, the reason 'm in this situation is because Halifax took a whole months wages to cover my overdraft, they warned me they would but I had a standing order in place to pay them and funds where available but the standing order didnt work. dont know what happened there but it's a nice crimbo present.

Today is D day. All these people want their money and I havnt got a penny to give them to rollover or even snowball the debt starting with the smaller one. I've got £20 in cash to last me a month. Heard about crisis loans so thats the option I'm going to persue for my immediate problems but what am I gonna do.

I have a feeling ive severley f'd my life.

If I lose my job because of this f'd up situation I dont know what I'd do, id be unable to pay rent and Id be out on my arse.

Claim the right of aprobation from the Halifax and tell them that you are going to take it to your local MP and the FSA... they should NOT have taken all your funds, even they should know that.

Go into a branch and ask to speak to the manager, explain that you cannot discuss the matter with anyone less as it is fraud.. don't even attempt to discuss it on the phone as you will be shunted around.

Thanks very much for the quick response, but have you any advise on what to do about the payday loans, I'm not going to be able to get to a bank untill after the new year as Im working everyday accept the bank holidays and the nearest bank to my work is miles away. How can I get them to remove my works phone number and what can be done about the data protection brach by tower capital. Thanks again.

Can you afford to pay one off this month - if you ring them and plead with them they may drop the interest particularly if it has been rolled over several times. Wageday Advance and 24/7 Moneybox are usually quite reasonable. Keep everything in email to these companies and then you have proof that you tried to negotiate.

If you log onto the websites and remove your work phone and put in 111 11111 or whatever it should help.

With Tower Capital and Capital Finance One they like to try court, but I have a basic defence which destroys their particulars of claim and there is a liklehood of getting the claims dismissed by the courts. They do not seem to be reasonable but again you could try emailing them.

Just an update, these goddamn lenders won't respond to any e-mails, capital finance one have rang me, they are going to ring back tomorrow after I have spoke to my bank. Doubt i'll be in any different situation though, asked to speak to manager at the halifax service desk got told to basically do one as they said I'd failed to keep to my arrangement. Although I'm absoloutly skint though the pay day loans are the biggest concern, I wreckon I'll lose my job for sure if they keep calling me at work which from previous posts I know is coming. I dont want to highjack the page by bumping but to put it bluntly im absoloutly bricking it. Any help or links to other threads that can help would be apprieciated beyond belief. Thanks in advance. Cheque centres will hound the life out of you! But, stick to your guns and they will back down fairly quickly. Have you got a 'case manager' up at their head office? If so, you can get an email address for them and make a repayment plan with them.

I've got a thread about them somewhere.....
