I am a security guard who is required to wear my company uniform at work. I had to pay for the uniform and the cost was deducted from my wages over a period of weeks.

Surely if my employer wants me to wear their uniform they should supply it.

Hello. I don't the answer either, sorry. I would read the directgov website for clues. A small consolation for you could be the ability to claim it against your tax. I'll check the interweb when I get a moment and post anything I can find.

most security companie offer free uniform but if you leave between 6 -12 months you might be liable if you dont return uniform as i am security guard aswell i work for vsg security i just wondering what company you work for and is it gangster/dodgy company
