AFAIK and have learned, a default marker must be placed on the CRF accurately, they have "up to" six months in which to place it on the file, any time after that would constitute inaccurate info on the file...

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

So as the deafult notice was dated 22 dec 2010 and they have marked the date of default with CRA's as 31 May 2011 (within 6 months) this is correct then, the date doesn't have to show 22 Dec 2010?

Or am I still not reading this right. All the defaults on my file show the date the default notice was issued regardless of when it actually appeared on the file. One was only put on last month, but it shows the date of default as Oct 2007 which is correct.

Is just this Vanquis one on my mates file that has got the default date as they date it was put on the file not the date the deafult notice was issued.

Now you have given me food for thought!

I believe that as long as a default is placed on the CRF within six months of the actual default occurring then yes, that would be seen as correct.

However, you can always question the date they have put on, as you have written proof of when they first deemed the account to be in default.

TBH I haven't really been keeping up to date with things as much as I should, busy month with reunions, parades, and social events!

In your case regarding the default marker being placed on your file years after the actual event would be highly questionable IF they had failed to put the correct date of default on, I am still not 100% sure why they would wait four years then add it to your file?? But hey ho, it'll only be on there for another 2...

Here is the ICO's take on defaults and CRF's.
