Hi, first post so please bear with me.

Took out a loan with Lombard Direct in April 2006 for £7000 over 3 years. I didn't notice at the time, naively, that I had signed for PPI.

In December 2007 I took out a second loan for £8000, part of which paid off the first loan. It was only when I read the letter accompanying the loan agreement forms that I noticed a Rebate of Insurance Premium for £98.12. This drew my attention to my original loan agreement which showed I had in fact taken out Payment Protection Insurance to the value of £961.25. Total interest on the premium amounted to £78.34 a grand total of £1,039.59!!!

I never take out insurance because I am fortunate enough to have secure employment and should I require time off for sickness etc. I receive full pay for a certain amount of time etc.

I would like to make a claim for a refund of the insurance premiums I paid plus 8% interest etc. (Have been reading the forums) The problem is I can't find a template letter that suits my needs exactly. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places but would be obliged if anyone could help me.

Should I refer the letter to Lombard Direct, RBS ( who are on the DD on my bank statement) or both?

Kind regards

There may not be a template letter on the forum as there are so many different circumstances and scenarios.

I suggest you write you own letter. Does not need to be anything fancy, just I believe I have been mis-sold PPI and would like a refund of all premiums paid.

What is important though, is you enclose along with the letter a spreadsheet detailing the monthly repayments and calculation of interest.

Also, send the letter to whoever you were making your monthly repayments to and make sure it is posted special delivery. Keep a copy of the receipt as proof of postage.

Good luck
