Just wondering if someone can help me with contacts? I am complaining to the manager of my local job centre both for myself and for my hubby. I went with him for a review and an advisor was actually shouting really loud to someone one 'how do you know you are dyslexic? Einstein was dyslexic and it didn't stop him to do anything'. To say I was disgusted is an understatement, especially as she went back to her normal speaking volume after shouting this.

Also advisors giving really wrong advise, fobbing him off and outright lying to cover their lazy backsides.

I would like to start at the very top and email my way down to the manager, so will copy in my local mp and need help for the rest, I am absolutely furious!

Hope someone can help me.

Thank.

I complained about this woman many years ago after my husband was made redundant. The way she spoke to him was disgusting!

I will certainly let them know too, thanks.

I felt so sorry for this poor man, it is absolutely disgusting and I just can't calm down.

Any suggestions for top boss at the job centre, cabinet ministers etc.?

you might want to involve a group related to your husbands condition and point out that to the dwp.you will be taking the matter further.

it's a shame you dint turn around and say "einstein didn't have to sit here listening to you did he".

seriously this department is always the same and appears to be getting worse and worse, one person says one thing, someone else says another.aggressive attitudes complete incompetence abounds' everywhere, they are tunneled visioned, single minded and somehow believe this will work by constant bullying, your completely right to feel angry, humiliating and degrading treatment is a human rights abuse too.

so is enforced labour but that's another issue.

Good on you for wanting to make a stand for someone else - so many would have just ignored it. Thankfully not all staff I have had to deal with are like that, but I've come across a few and the ones that are drag the rest of them down, and generally make difficult situations worse for people who are claiming. It's totally unacceptable, and complaints do need to be made, otherwise nothing ever changes.

Absolutely fantastic, thanks very much for that info I will certainly be letting everyone know about this disgraceful behaviour. It's that and a great big list of other stuff, he got sent somewhere today and he walked in and they didn't have a clue why he had been sent, the info he went for was only given by the job centre! Its like these advisors have absolutely no clue about what is going on - I have to keep up with a lot of changes in my job, but I take it upon myself to actually find out.

jsa12, it wasn't about my hubby, I was sat in the seating area waiting for him and the advisor on the next desk was speaking as loudly as possible to another jobseeker, so that anyone within earshot could hear. She was degrading him in a mocking tone, I can't stress enough how bad it was, I couldn't hear her when she was speaking normally and I couldn't hear any of the other advisors or the people they were speaking to. Just who she thinks she is I have no idea and why on earth people like her get off on bullying little power trips like this I have no idea - I just hope she gets pulled into the office and given a right rollocking, you just can't speak to people like that, it's horriffic!

apologies my misunderstanding.

this is very common, typically when someones job search is not what they like they take a tone that is clearly audible to those waiting, "you could have wrote this this morning" "not good enough" they are supposed to view this positively but dont, they have no understanding of disability and commonly take this out on individuals'.

I have experienced this in a Job Centre and asked to speak to advisor's. Spoke with the person in charge who then took charge of the situation and finished the inteview with me. The next time I called to sign on, there was no sign of the nasty person.

It is bad enough having to sign on and go through the humilation without so snotty nose person trying to degrade you in front of every one else especially when more than likely you have more qualifications than the advisor, but either way they should not be speaking to you like you are something that crawled out the gutter.

Complain to Darra Singh by all means, but be prepared for a very excellent beaurocratic response. If you're still not happy, press your case. IF you have an understanding MP than that is a help. When an MP's letter clatters onto the DWP management desk, I have it on good authority the poo really does hit the fan. I have to admit I would be furious in this situation. I am very lucky to have a great Pathways Adviser...

Best wishes

Rae
