When did you last make a payment on the account or acknowledge the debt in writing?

Well they'll have to prove how the clock has been restarted if they want to take it any further. You'll need to watch DLC like a hawk the're pretty litigious - if they've only got your previous address then they could issue a court claim and get a ccj by default if you don't get to know about the claim. Do you have your mail redirected ?

Don't ring them! they'll only try and bully you into making a payment over the phone or admitting the debt - send them the affixed letter by recorded delivery and see what they come back with.

Keep a copy of the letter for yourself and also check on the royalmail website a few days after posting to print off the signature receipt - staple the receipt to your copy letter and keep in a safe place in case you need to prove they received it.

Hi

Welcome to The Consumer Action Group.

I am just letting you know that as you haven't had any replies to your post yet, it might be better if you post your message again in an appropriate sub-forum. You will get lots of help there.

Also take some time to read around the forum and get used to the layout. It is a big forum and takes a lot of getting used to.

Once you start to find your way, you will soon realise that it is fairly easy to get round and to get the help you need.

It can be bit confusing at first.

Please be advised that my time will be limited for the next few weeks. Thanks for your understanding.
