Hi

I have just picked this up from the Moneysupermarket forum.

ITV are running a programme on the Debt Collection Industry and are looking for case studies where debts have been chased, either where they are not due or where they are statute barred.

Not sure which ITV programme is covering this, but Moneysupermarket are offering Reward vouchers for case studies that feature on the programme.

Perhaps CAG can look into this and put details on the forum of the relevant ITV contact, as I am sure some would be interested.

As usual, only looking at cases where debts aren’t due. They will totally ignore the actions taken illegally against debtors where a debt is due – what makes real debtors different? The implication is that it’s OK to treat them however they like!

“The industry is rotten to the core, whether it is in-house recovery and collection, or where agents are used, or where the debt has been sold.” Andrew Mackinley MP, House of Commons, 22 April 2009
