There is an excellent 3-page article about private parking "tickets" in the "Ingear" section of today's Sunday Times. Its general theme (as expected) is that these tickets are unenforceable and backs this up with advice from several lawyers who specialise in parking law. MSE and Pepipoo also get a mention.

Two highlights of the article is that famous admission made by Patrick Troy in-front of a House of Commons committee that these demands are virtually unenforcible, and a statement by Euro that they have never taken anyone to court because of the legal difficulties they face in pursuing the case.

There are four excellent follow-up letters in today's addition of the paper. One points out that yellow lines mean nothing on private property, and another questions the role of the DVLA in giving out information to PPCs.
