Hi Guys,

Like the others on here I have gotten myself into such a mess! After initially just looking for £200 payday loan, I have now racked up almost £2800 in loans trying to pay off the interest of £800 a month and pay my bills at the same time.

If i could just stop the interest I could pay all the loans off in 4 months, would you advise me to default on them? i am really worried that they will start calling my place of work and people finding out that I have these debts, they are not the most descreet when trying to contact you.

I just need some breathing space to pay back the debts not just the interest, what's the best thing for me to do and how do I broach these lenders? Are some of them more open to coming to an arrangement, I can't bear the thought of defaulting and then feeling sick everytime the phone rings, but I have to do something, every month i am getting myself into a bigger hole, can anyone advise of the best way forward as I am making myself ill thinking about it!

Many thanks for your advice.

Approach them all tell them you situation and make the offer to clear in 4 months if they freeze interest.

If you phone make sure you get names and back it up with emails/letters.

some may accept your offer, some definately will not, let us know the ones who wont and how much you owe them and users on here can advise how to deal with them.

Please try NOT to use a similar name to mine, I have been on these forums a long time and post particularly on this part of the forum....

Can you list the companies you owe money to and we can advise the best route to take with them.

You do need to get a new bank account set up (Halifax, Co-op and Metro Bank all do good basic accounts with online facilities) and have your income paid into that to prevent raids on your funds. DO NOT give this new account out.

That is the first step to getting out of the mess - getting back control of your income. If necessary set up TWO new accounts, one for yourself and one for 'them'.

Thanks for the initial response, much appreciated already!

Ok so these are the companies I have loans with

PDUK -135 outstanding and slowing reducing each month.

Payday Express - 500 always just pay off the £100 interest each month - Not defaulted yet

PTP - 1000 always just pay off the £300 interest each month - not defaulted yet

Wonga - 500 - Renew every month and is £150 interest each month - Not defaulted yet

Lending Stream - Curently Owe £320 and slowly reducing each month but still paying £140 this month, £120 next month etc etc until £0 - not defaulted

Captain Cash -£200 just paying the £60 interest each month - Not defaulted

Lend UK owe 300 + 150 in interest over 2 months, Cornwall Collections are cotantly calling and texting, worried that they'll keep calling me at work.

i just need some breathing space to start paying them off, this is crippling me each month so getting more loans to try and live I just don't know how to broach each one and what to expect from them? Which ones have a history of freezing the interest I am worried about defaulting and then the intesrest spiralling out of control!

Payday Express- I tried to set up a plan for a £200 loan with these, offered 50 a month they said as its only 40 to renew no plan. so i just defaulted not heard a diky bird.

ptp- no chance of any plan being set up they want the full amount ignore them for a month then it will be passed to clarity collections. i offerd these 10 per month for 660 they accepted without question.

and with lending stream let me know how you get on as i am yet to tackle this one yet.

p.s with ptp go on to your online account and change your contact details. worked for me nether heared anything.

hopr that helps abit.

Get another bank account to protect your income, PTP and several of the others mentioned have been known to help themselves to the entire contents of your bank account as their 'right'.

Halifax, Co-Op and Metro Bank all do good basic bank accounts with online facilities.

NEVER set up DD facilities with these companies they will abuse the process left, right and centre and you will end up with additional bank charges. ALWAYS ask to pay them by online facilities or by standing order. Many of them now have online facilities.

I have another account I can use, does anyone know whether banks can change your bank account number? Will start to make contact with these companies, any other advice/hints and tips from anyone that has had dealings with any of the above, please let me know.
