Hi All

Great forum!!

I was pulled over for not having an MOT on my car (I had just collected this from the garage after having work carried out on it so as it could pass its MOT:mad2:)

Although i was very polite and stated the above The police officer was really rude and not interested in my story and issued me with a fine

I had forgotten all about it until i received a notice yesterday

The details on the reminder are correct except number plate & time of offence (address and my name are the only correct details!)

Do i have any angle to avoid paying this?

Thanks!

Are the details on the original fpn correct? The details on the reminder are not relevant to the actual case.

the incorrect details mean nothing of this gets to court. you were stopped so you know the details. you are not disadvantaged by the FPN. And the FPN will not be part of the evidence if it gets to court. Unless you actually had the MOT then you will lose this in court in my opinion.

I would pay it. thats the least cost.

Were you driving the car directly from the garage to an MOT station (pre booked MOT)?

Yes I would agree too, unless there was a pre-arranged Mot.

A vehicle is also an exempt vehicle when being driven to/from pre-booked repair after failing an MoT test.
