Hi all

This is for information in dealing with them.

After months of nonsensical letter ping-pong and telephone harassment I get Aegis to stop calling me: MBNA seem a bit twitchy about the Data Protection status of their Indian based agents.

They have refused to freeze interest or charges. One of their chaps said the minimum hardship scheme would be £5 per month or they would just sell the debt on. Recently, I talked to them again (stupid and pointless maybe) and they agreed that my necessary expenditure exceeded my income, so they would freeze interest or charges but only for 6 months with the clock, but not the freeze, commencing from when I got into difficulties and then would want £220 per month for 5 years or they would sell the debt on.

So it doesn't matter how reasonable you try to be, they are just fishing for information as to whether you have any surplus income; if you don't then tough, they will sell the debt on.

They are not nice or reasonable people and don't fall for their schmoos.

best wishes
