Hi, I have a quick question I just need some clarification on;

I have my student loan money about to be paid into my savings account that I hold with Barclays,

And I am overdrawn on my current account to the tune of 1K ( this was the banks fault for withdrawing the facility without my knowledge, and I am refusing to pay them the full amount in a lump sum )

What I want to know is, can Barclays take the money out of my savings account to pay what I owe on the current account, or will it be safe?

Thanks

hi the student

Welcome to CAG

They will have in their terms and conditions that they can do that. Unless you've got something in writing to say that they made a mistake, their systems will kick in.

Hi thestudent

Thats what I would do, open with a different bank, check to make sure it isn't part of the same bank. That way your not constantly worrying.
