Not sure this is the right place for this, but its a general bank question.

I want a joint account with my partner, but she has a string of defaults and a ccj, and poor credit, etc.

I understand that usually with joint accounts (if you get them) you are marked down on your credit score by the other account holder?

I was wondering, if I opened a Joint account via Barclays or another bank that does not require a credit check (basic account), will we still be link via a CRA and will i still get a penalty on my credit score?
