OK here's the situation me and my partner are in.. My partner is working 16hrs per week for a not so busy social club, he's been there for nearly 5 years now.

In Feb this year a new manager took over the running of the club and called a staff meeting to say "no more holidays for any staff, the club can't afford it"

He mentioned in the last staff meeting about getting holidays back and was told don't worry you can swap shifts with people to cover your time off.

I think this is absolutely disgraceful

We both know the manager is breaking the law by not giving their staff holiday entitlements, but we can't afford to lose the job, it's convenient and he enjoys it. What can we do about getting holidays back for all the staff?

Would a letter signed by all staff do the job? can we threaten the manager with legal action? any input and advise would be appreciated.

Many thanks for listening.

Hi Kel

I wouldn't go to heavy to start with, you all have to work with him. But get a letter drafted stating that employment law in the UK dictates that that employees who work more then a certain number of hours are entitled to payed holidays and that the employer legally has to allow the employees to take their holiday entitlement.

Also state that you will take the matter to an employment tribunal if you have too.

Make sure you all sign it.
